Startups
From beginning to the moon, we scale with you.
Form the company, take your first payment, put your round to work and pay your first contractor, on one set of building blocks.
A founder hurries in with an idea: start Quillfox, an AI note-taking company whose logo is a fox with a pen nib for a chin. First, Company setup: Quillfox, Inc. is formed, a Delaware C-corp, with its certificate of incorporation, EIN confirmation and bylaws. Then Banking: the operating account opens and a revenue chart appears at $0. Then Payments, Hosted checkout, Payment links and Fast Checkout: the first subscriber pays $49, and monthly revenue takes off, up and to the right to about $210,000 by year 3. On the way up come Tax, sales tax collected at checkout; Compliance, W-9s on file for 8 contractors; and Company management, every deadline on one calendar. Then, in years 2 and 3, the same blocks come back each filing season: 1099s filed before January 31, and Delaware franchise tax paid with the annual report by March 1.
Everything in the order you need it.

Who can join Cedar for Startups?
Startups backed by venture investors. Apply with your company, give us a few details and we'll verify your application.
What do the $2,500 in credits cover?
The whole fee on card and bank payments your customers make through Cedar, card network costs included. They last twelve months from the day you join Cedar, or until the $2,500 is used, whichever comes first. Then standard pricing starts.
We haven't incorporated yet. Can we still apply?
Yes. Form the company with Cedar and you pay only the state's fees, then your first year of Company management is free.
We're based outside the US. Can we join?
Yes, wherever your founders are. You need a US company to take payments on Cedar: bring the one you have, or form a Delaware C-corp with Cedar at the state's fees and start taking payments from US customers.
Not venture-backed?
Cedar is for every startup. The program is for venture-backed ones, and everything else on this page works the same for you.
Is there a test mode?
Yes. Take test payments, check your webhooks and try the API before we ask for a single document, then switch to live keys.
Can we take subscriptions?
Yes, recurring card and bank payments at a fixed amount and schedule. Your app decides who has access. Usage-based billing, trials and plan changes aren't built yet.
We're on Stripe. Can we move?
You can start new checkouts on Cedar today. Moving saved cards and existing subscriptions from Stripe isn't available yet.
